Chances are good that you know some of the standard ways to care for your tires. Outside of making sure your tires are properly inflated, you want to ensure they are properly balanced and keep up on routine rotations. A service you may not think of at first is the wheel alignment. A wheel alignment refers to the angles that determine how your wheels are situated on your vehicle. For example, your wheels may be tilted slightly inward or outward depending on the angles. Over time and through hard collisions with pot holes, it's possible to change the wheel alignment angles. This may lead to quicker and/or irregular tire wear.

This is why it's wise to have an alignment inspection performed before you install new tires. This gives you a chance to change the angles so they are more optimal for your tires and vehicle handling. After all, you probably want to get every mile you paid for out of your new set.
